Query

Answer questions by searching and synthesizing wiki content.

Manual-only: this skill runs only when the user explicitly invokes /query (or asks Cursor/Windsurf to "query the wiki about X"). Regular conversational questions during chat do NOT auto-trigger this workflow — that would pollute log.md with a log entry per casual question.

Workflow

  1. Read wiki/index.md to identify relevant pages. Scan page titles and summaries for relevance to $ARGUMENTS.

  2. Read the relevant pages. Follow [[wikilinks]] to gather additional context if needed. Read wiki/overview.md for big-picture framing.

  3. Synthesize an answer:

    • Cite wiki pages using [[page-name]] links
    • Note confidence level: is this well-supported by multiple sources, or based on a single source?
    • Flag if the wiki has gaps — important aspects the user might want to investigate further
    • If sources disagree, present the different perspectives

  4. Suggest saving if the answer is valuable (a comparison, synthesis, or novel connection). Tell the user: "This might be worth saving to the wiki. Use /save <suggested-title> to keep it."

  5. Append to wiki/log.md:

    ## [YYYY-MM-DD] query | <short question summary>
Answer based on: [[page1]], [[page2]], ...

Answer formats

Match the format to the question:

  • Factual lookup → concise answer with citation
  • Comparison → markdown table
  • How/why → structured explanation with headers
  • Timeline → chronological list
  • Open-ended → synthesis with multiple perspectives

When the wiki can't answer

If the wiki doesn't contain enough information:

  1. Say so explicitly
  2. Suggest what sources might fill the gap
  3. Offer to search with available tools if applicable
